​J. Albert Perry, Sr.



J. Albert Perry, Sr.., 92, of Wake Forest, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home. He was born in Wake County to the late Frank Perry and Annie Faison Perry.

Mr. Perry was a member of Wake Forest Lodge #282 A.F. & A.M., a former member of the Wake Forest Fire Department where he was a past chief from 1958-1978 and a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Korea. He was retired mechanic with the Highway Patrol Troop C with over 20 years of service and was a member of Oak Level Christian Church where he was a former deacon. He had great pride in his home state and received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine from Gov. James G. Martin in 1986.

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2016 at Oak Level Christian Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Perry is survived by his son, James A. “Jim” Perry, Jr. & wife Faye of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Tyler McFadyen of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Walker McFadyen and a special friend, Teresa Perry of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Grace Frazier Perry.
