Obituary

Ronald Reinnerth Bender, 75, of Youngsville, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at his home. He was born in New Castle, PA to the late George G. Bender and Anne Marie Reinnerth Bender.

Mr. Bender was a graduate of Middle State Tennessee and was an executive in the Apparel Manufacturing industry for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in his younger years. He was a decorated horseshoe pitcher, having played all over the country and was also instrumental in building horseshoe courts. Ron had a great love for motorcycles, classic cars, sports, and books. Janie and Ron collected and sold books during their tenure together as a hobby. Lake Geneva was a special place for Ron and he spent some time there every summer with close friends and family enjoying their friendships.

Pastor Phil Brantley conducted a private burial service with military honors at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens located in Wake Forest, NC.

Mr. Bender is survived by his life partner, Janie Howell Raper; daughters, Krisanne Mari Bender LoGalbo & husband Michael of Tucson, AZ and Erin Shae Bender Neifer & husband Scott of Norwalk, OH; son, Ganon Gwinn Bender of Floyd, VA. Special friends, Michael A. Strickland and wife, Angie and Lillie Grace Strickland, all of Wendell; grandson, Tyler Shields of Norwalk, OH; brothers, Edward G. Bender & wife Diane of New Castle, PA and Dale A. Bender & wife Marlene, of New Castle, PA; sister, Georgia Anne Hadley & husband Dean of Springfield, MO.

The family wants to thank all that visited, expressed their love and care for him during his illness. Special thanks to his close friends Milton Kirsch, Gary Snyder, Bill Lavender, Spencer Brown, Tom & Jan Buckley, along with the garage crew, Mary & John Howell, Marshall & Phyllis Clements & the Raleigh Bottle Club members.
